- Oct 03, 2019 However, protection is defined by a relatively narrow set of rules, which are often communicated using the mnemonic acronym DEBT. The object with protection cannot be: Damaged by sources with the specified quality. (All such damage is prevented.) Enchanted, equipped, or fortified by permanents with the specified quality.
- Protection will stack on different armor pieces, and provides comprehensive protection against all forms of damage except The Void and server kill commands. It is true that falling, fire, lava, poison, and even mob damage will be reduced, but false that the armor durability will always reduce more than normal.
Protection is an enchantment applied to armor that increases the armor's damage reduction.
Damage Protection is a feature that covers your property against the accidental damage a guest might do while at your property. It's an insurance policy that covers accidental damage for a particular guest and set of dates and paid for on a booking by booking basis.
Usage[edit]
Protection has no effect on damage from the Void, the
/kill
command, or hunger. In Bedrock Edition, protection does not reduce damage from status effects like poison. The formula for damage reduction is
(4 × level)%
, meaning for every additional level another 4% of damage is absorbed. The highest level (Protection IV) absorbs 16% (4 × 4%
) of damage. Theoretically at level 25 no damage is possible (because it would transcend 100%), but because the damage to be absorbed is capped at 80%, the maximum effective level would be 20.Damage reduction from Protection, Fire Protection, Feather Falling, Blast Protection, and Projectile Protection stacks up to an upper limit cap (see Armor#Enchantments).
Incompatibilities[edit]
Protection, Blast Protection, Fire Protection, and Projectile Protection are mutually exclusive. However, if commands are used to have two or more of these enchantments on the same item, the effects stack.
